Feature Friday: the Back, Neck, and Shoulder Massager

If you have known me for any length of time, you have probably seen me with this back/shoulder/neck massager stick. I take it in the car. I bring it to school. I bring it to Bible study. In short, I take it nearly everywhere.

I have had chronic shoulder and neck pain for many years, and after requesting shoulder massages from my husband–then boyfriend–on the weekly, Jeff decided to purchase the TriggerPoint AcuCurve Massage Cane for Neck, Back and Shoulders. “Best decision I ever made,” he said–and indeed, I wouldn’t want to imagine life without this handy tool! It does a great job of helping relieve knots in my back and shoulders, and on days when I don’t have time to do yoga before heading out (most days), I take it with me for on-the-go relief.

Benefits:

  • It’s a do-it-yourself tool (though I still love a good, old-fashioned massage from my husband, another willing friend, or my dad–the king of massage!) You choose the spot to target, you apply the amount of pressure you want.
  • It’s portable (conveniently hooks over my shoulder on my way into school, fits in my backpack).
  • It doubles as a keeper-awaker on long drives (gives you something to do, and it’s harder to fall asleep while poking your back in various locations
  • It’s only $21.

Because this massage stick is such a frequent companion at the school where I substitute teach, I have been asked many times by adults where I bought it. Jeff purchased it for me at REI, but you can also find it on Amazon by following this link.

As a side note, I have also been loving doing some of the HIIT, yoga, and pilates workouts put out by Jessica of Pregnancy and Postpartum TV, and this yoga routine for relieving shoulder and back pain has been one of my favorites. Check it out–pregnancy is not required for participation. 😉

Note: As an Amazon affiliate, I receive a small commission when you purchase a book or product through one of my links. Please support your local bookstore and businesses, but also consider supporting me! Thank you!
